Regional Support Manager - 6 months contract

Location:  SW Region -This is a mobile position so you should live in the SW Region.

Salary: 55K

Purpose of the role

The Regional Support Manager will take ownership of the operational management and delivery of all facilities management services delivered within his/her remit which could be either a large complex site, across multiple sites or for a Operational specific project. This includes management of the client interface, adopting a collaborative approach, to ensure that a consistently strong relationship is maintained.


Duties will include but won’t be limited to:  

  • To manage the client interface within a Site or group of Prisons; ensuring a high profile

in the day-to-day running of the sites, and provision of a consistently strong link with

clients, guaranteeing appropriate and responsive action to address any of the client’s

concerns.

  • To performance manage across teams and service lines, reporting on and monitoring

performance.

  • Act as liaison between the establishment, the RAD and the project delivery group on Delivering Facility Services alongside our Customers

major projects (over £150k) and act as Project manager on regional

projects (under £150k)

  • To ensure that the operational aspects of his/her area are delivered in accordance with

the SLA by an agreed programme of qualitative checks and controlled measures.

  • To act as an ambassador for change, supporting the implementation of business-wide

initiatives at a site-level.

  • To develop and implement performance strategies and improvement plans to drive

continued performance improvements across all sites within the assigned region.

  • To control risks and issues escalated at a site-level and put in place appropriate

mitigation and resolution plans.

  • To develop maximum growth of the business through understanding client needs,

maximising the services delivered and championing excellent customer care.

  • To ensure compliance with all statutory, Health & Safety, security and relevant

company and client policies generating a true health and safety culture.

  • To Oversee and manage the site and service inspection tours to monitor, analyse and

evaluate against quality standards

  • To ensure that all operational policies and procedures meet contractual compliance

and are consistently delivered across the region.

  • To define and take ownership of Target Operating Models (TOM) across his/her remit,

ensuring optimum performance and productivity within budgetary boundaries.

  • To manage the people resources effectively and efficiently to deliver the required

services.

  • Manage delegated budgets in compliance with the Finance, Procurement and

Materials Management policies when required.

  • Analysis of budgetary information to assist in annual budgetary and monthly

forecasting processes.

  • To lead, recruit, develop and retain staff to deliver services in the most efficient and

effective manner to optimise performance

  • To promote innovative ways to add value and reduce cost within the teams
  • To ensure that a continuous improvement process is an integral part of service

delivery increasingly adding value to both GFSL and our client.

  • Validate the flow of information and data between Estates business support and the

establishments. Produce relevant reports as required and ensure all correspondence is

accurate.

  • To visit sites and facilitate regular customer forums and meetings with key

stakeholders as appropriate.

  • To interact with all internal teams to discharge the consistent, effective and efficient

delivery of services and in doing so, support best practice.

  • To support customer and company audits ensuring optimum results are achieved.
  • To set objectives for direct reports and review bi-monthly. Ensure same approach and

mechanisms for all staff within area of responsibility. 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Considerable experience within the Facilities Management sector and technical service delivery
  • Minimum of 2+ years management experience, including the management of first line managers
  • Previous knowledge of working in the Prison / Secure Environment / Military / Health Sector desirable
  • Management of budgets
  • Management of Change
  • Management of third parties
  • Knowledge of risk and compliance
  • IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certified
  • Planning and Project Management Skills
  • Up to date First Aid at work Qualification desirable
  • Strategic and clear thinking, strong communication and negotiation skills

To be able to work for our client, it is essential that you have the ability to pass the Enhanced Level 1 (EL1) or Enhanced Level 2 (EL2) HMPPS Security Vetting process. If you are successful at interview, then this will involve attending a separate appointment at the prison.
